AM
Work began by scraping the dirt in the southern 2nd meter of the trench to see if the yellowish flaky soil continues throughout the rest of the trench. Now that the soil has been exposed in the southern 2x2 meter area, it was determined that the soil is still too wet to see if the yellowish flaky soil extends throughout the entire trench. Therefore, work was halted for the time being till the soil dries.
PM
Now that the soil is drier, work began by scraping down the soil in locus 3 , using hand picks and trowels to see if the yellowish light flaky soil appears
throughout the trench as well as scraping back the soil that was affected by the rain.
Locus 2 Rock Feature with Rocks Removed
The yellow light flaky soil is continuing to appear in locus 3 and although the soil is still damp in the southeast half of the trench, the soil being uncovered is also yellow in color. Once the loose soil was picked up, all roots were clipped and end of day elevations were taken.
