Boxes of pottery 3

Boxes of tile 2

An area 3 m long, 4-6 and 2 m wide, D-E was excavated with the intention of cleaning and closing Rect. 2. Digging revealed that the stone packing of grid C-3/4 curves into an east to west alignment ( ). This very packing may be a wall. Fragments of "early" style pot rims and impasto handles were found near this wall. The soil immediately beneath this packing was intermixed with carbon.

Another stone packing aligned east/west resides in grid E-4, 5, 6. This packing appears to line up with a series of stones found in grid D-E/1-2. Pottery found included coarse-ware fragments, pieces of bone and some bucchero.

Section E-2/3 was excavated down to a small stone packing which covered the entire area.
