Boxes of pottery 2
Boxes of tile 1/2
A section 3 m long, C-E and 1 m wide, 1 was excavated in order to clean down to the bedrock. the length of the cut reveals massive bedrock jutting diagonally up through the earth. A yellow layer of soil rests upon the bedrock. The only finds of the day included a strange terracotta fragment and a spindle whorl. The rest of the pottery included coarse-ware fragments and some bone. The eastern edge of Rect. 2 has now been excavated by a cut 1 m wide, 1 and 5 m long, A-E. The upper building foundation wall defining the eastern edge of Rect. 2 appears to rest upon a floor of bedrock.
