Work began with a pick pass of the northern 3/4 of the trench, starting in the south and working north, from where the larger rocks are visible in the south and moving away, in order to determine if the rocks extend to the north or are contained to the southern meters of the trench. While picking, some smaller rocks were found in the southern meters of the trench, but nothing approaching the size of the large rocks in the south of the trench. Soil remains medium brown in color, claylike in texture, and was handsorted directly into buckets in the trench. Slightly higher quantities of tile, pottery, and bone were recovered compared to previous days and the tile and pottery is starting to appear better preserved, with sharper break edges and larger fragments preserved. Additionally, a concentration of medium-sized rocks with integrated tile was found extending to the north of the southern rock packing, near the western wall of the trench; this suggests that the rock packing may extend to the north. While cleaning up this pick pass, a piece of medieval pottery (Find #1) was found.

Only the central meters of the trench, just north of the exposed rocks, were picked using a pickax. As some more rocks were found extending to the north, hand picks and trowels were used to remove soil, and expose and define any new rocks found. While doing this, moving from south to north, a few more larger rocks were found around the single large, exposed rock in the northern half of the trench, and so hand picks and trowels were also used to excavate the northern meters of the trench, which is also at a higher elevation than the rest of the trench. Soil continues to be medium brown and claylike and is hand sorted directly into buckets in the trench. Closing elevations for the day were taken. A half day was taken for Palio.
