A pick pass was done through the Locus , the floor of the trench was scraped and leveled with the 50cm wide strip of T-57 that is part of T-80 this year. The strip is also becoming more clay-like. The baulk walls between T-80 and T-74, T-59 and T-58 were picked and leveled. The soil is still loose. Tile and pottery is being found. There are still many roots in the locus with a large one bisecting the Locus running East to West. Since Locus 1 is now level with T-57 and the soil is starting to become more clay-like, Locus 1 will be closed and Locus 2 will be open. Closing elevations were taken, opening elevations of coordinates were taken, an opening photo and sketch was made.

Opening Sketch Locus 2

Two full pick passes were done in Locus 2 moving from North to South. The passes were light but the soil appears to be clay-like and flakey. There is tile, pottery and little bone in the Locus . The soil appears loose. There is a larger rock appearing in the Southwestern corner.

Another pick pass was done through the trench moving from North to South. Soil was sorted and dumped. The rocks along the northern baulk were further defined, the rock in the Southwestern corner was defined. The large root in the middle of the trench was removed. The floor was scraped to level it. While cleaning a burnt bone fragment was found (SF #1)

The Northern meter was picked again and scraped level. A few larger roots were clipped.
