A.M.

The 15cm cut begun yesterday in meters H-I/ 68-71 was completed to a depth of 105cm to 140cm.  The soil in the cut was dark brown in color and contained a large amount of small rocks and roots.  One quarter cassetta of qorn tile and one quarter box of worn impasto pottery was recovered.

A 15cm cut was also completed in meters F-G/68-70, extending the depth of the trench in these meters from 155cm to 175cm.  At a depth of ca. 135cm to 150cm, the soil in meters G/68-69 turned to galestra.  No material was discovered in these meters.  The soil in meters F/68-70

and G/70 remained light brown in color with sporadic patches of yellow and orange soil.  A light concentration of carbon chunks was also noted in meters F/68-69.  A few pieces of bucchero were discovered in meter F/68.  No tile was recovered in the cut.
