The trench was extended east into meters D_E/71-72 in order to both determine the lateral extent of the rock pack and trace the limit of the burn area previously identified in meter D/70. A topsoil cut was taken to a depth of ca. 30 to 60cm. following the downward slope of the hill. The soil was dark brown in color and contained a high concentration of roots and large rocks. These rocks clearly form part of the same formation identified in meters D_E(68-70. One quarter of a cassetta of worn tile was recovered from the cut. One half of a box of
worn impasto pottery was also found.
