Work began with a pick pass across the entire northern extension; the eastern half was picked twice to create a more level surface. Soil is medium brown and relatively loose, with many small and medium-sized rocks. Soil is shoveled into wheelbarrows and sorted over the wheelbarrow. Fairly high quantities of tile and pottery were found, although during this first there seems to be less tile present than yesterday.

A second pick pass was made of the entire extension, moving from east to west. Soil is medium brown and loose, with patches of paler soil in place. There are many small to medium sized rocks contained within this soil, along with roots. Soil is shoveled into buckets and sorted over the wheelbarrow. Relatively high quantities of tile, some pottery, but little bone was found.

A third pick pass was made throughout the whole extension, once again moving from east to west. Soil continues to be mainly medium brown in color and loose in texture, with many small

rocks and roots. Soil is shoveled into buckets and sorted over the wheelbarrow. Fairly high quantities of tile and some pottery, but little bone, was recovered, although quantities are noticeably less than yesterday.

A fourth pick pass was made of the entire extension, although the eastern half was picked twice, in order to keep the trench floor level. Soil continues to be medium brown and loose, with patches of paler soil in places, which is typical of soil from a dirt dump. Soil also contains many small rocks and roots, especially in the SW corner of the extension where there is a stump. Soil is shoveled into buckets and sorted over the wheelbarrow. Relatively high quantities of tile, some pottery, and a little bone was found.

Work resumed this afternoon by removing the stump in the SW corner of the extension with picks and handpicks. Once the stump was removed, a fifth pick pass was made of the whole extension, going from west to east. Soil continues to be medium brown and loose, with many small rocks and roots.

There are patches of lighter colored soil as well, which is typical of a dirt dump. Soil is shoveled into buckets and sorted over the wheelbarrow. Fairly high quantities of tile, along with some pottery and bone, were found.

A sixth pick pass was made of the whole extension, once again moving from east to west. Soil remains medium brown and loose, with many small and medium sized rocks. Soil is shoveled into buckets and sorted over the wheelbarrow. We found relatively large quantities of tile, as well as some pottery and bone.

Closing elevations for the day were taken.
