Daily Log

July 6, 1989

Backfill and plastic was lifted from K-M/82-85.  Rain fom the previous week has made the soil and tile very wet.  As a result, we are digging elsewhere.  Since the top soil north of our trench had already been removed in previous seasons, top soil was removed in meter J/80-81.  This cut brought these meters down to the level of K/80-82

Topsoil had been removed in previous seasons in the shaded area.

J-K/80 was taken down to roughly 25 cm below surface in a second cut.  less than 1/4 of a cassetta of tile was found, and only a few pieces of plaster.  1 piece of coarse impasto was found.  Soil was dark brown w/ some stones.
