Continued work on cut 2 in T-26 1982 expansion R-W/62-64. There is a soil change evident - on the eastern side (grids 64-63/V-W to date) the soil is dark reddish brown with a lot of tile and plaster present. To the west, the soil is brown with very little pottery and almost no tile. Occassionally there is a fleck of burn material in this brown soil. As excavation moves into grids T-U/62-64 the soil is once again uniformly brown, fairly loose with some roots and scattered small stones. As excavation moves north there is an increasing amount of carbon in the soil including some larger pieces. Pottery is almost entirely unburned; A few tile fragments are burned. The concentraqtion of tile throughout T-U is much less. It is interesting that although several pieces of bronze sheet are found there really isn\'t any bronze contact found in the soil.
