The large bone, found on 10 July, was removed with the surrounding earth, but efforts to preserve its original condition were not wholly successful.
A small piece of moulded terracotta, suggesting an eye, was found.
A small ceramic fragment with 10 holes of about 3 mm diameter, many of which were evenly
spaced, was found at a depth of 1.75 m, 0.46 m from the east wall and 4.25 m from the north (Find #5).
A small piece of rosette with only two petals preserved was also found.
During the morning, few architectural fragments were found, but there were many sherds, including one fragment with a shape similar to that of a larger piece found in trench 2E ( ).
Many bone fragments were found scattered in the area, some beneath large stones, at about 1.80 m in depth.
In this area, trench 2D was
excavated to bedrock, with a piece of horse race frieze (right edge and guilloche) found in the remaining earth.
