INTRODUCTION

During the 1998 excavation season it was deicded to return to the CA area - directly west of the SW corner of the Archaic Building.  The area had been recently cleared by wood cutters, thus allowing greater accessibility.  Two identical trenches are to be laid out in the region of CA 2, where a large number of Upper Bldg terracottas were recovered ( TG I , BH II , AM I , JW I + JWII ).  These trenches - CA 48 and CA 49 - will explore the relationship between this region and the archaic building, as well as serve as further indicators of the relationship between the archaic upper bldg terracottas and their discovery in the CA region.  See also GM II for CA 48.
