Daily Log

July 10, 1972

Work continued in Trench 19.  The rocks were cleared off the N-S wall foundations in grids G-I/53.  Here the foundation is approximately 140 cm wide and lies approximately 60 cm below topsoil ( ).

The stone foundations continue to the north and south up to the north wall ( ) of the upper building.

  • 3 cassetti of tiles discarded
  • 2 strawberry boxes of pottery

Work also continued in Trench 19 grids J-M/33 where the tile layer lying approximately 1 meter below topsoil was lifted.  It produced three cassetti of tiles (predominantly pan tiles and cover tiles, with some pithos fragments), which were discarded.
