The rocks in the western part of the trench were defined and swept. Almost no tile was found & most of what was found was found came from the stump in the northwestern corner during defining. The rocks on this side of the trench appear to be smaller and irregularly packed unlike the rocks in the eastern part of the trench. We will close locus 1 and open locus 2 over in the western part of the trench. Closing elevations & photos were taken of locus 1 , elevations, photos, & a sketch were made of locus 2 . Locus 2 is small 10-20cm rocks with a yellowish brown soil in between it. Picking is difficult due to the amount of

stones. A pick pass was done in locus 2 .

3 pick passes were done in Locus 2 , the soil is a yellowish brown with white & yellow inclusions. During each pick pass more rocks were found beneath the others. The rocks continue to be 20 to 30 cm in length. There are also smaller 5 to 10 cm pieces of rocks in between.

Several roots from the Northwestern stumps were cut away. We began pick passes again in locus 2 . Soil continues to be yellowish-brown and included. Almost nothing has been found. And the only piece of tile & pottery came from near the root system of the stumps. Another pick pass was done.

Because of the lack of finds we have started to shovel soil into buckets & sorting at the wheelbarrow. 2 more pick passes were done in the locus . Nothing was found.
