Trench Layout

The boundaries of T 75 were laid out by a baseline extended from 95 E, initially laid out using a baseline shot with the transit off the grid point PC 6 and a second baseline extending from it at a ninety degree angle.  Using triangulation a two by four meter trench was established with the northwest corner at a location of 102E/44S.

It should be noted that during the 2014 field season that an error occurred while shooting the baseline with the transit, which resulted in the 2014 trenches being shifted one degree south from where they should have been placed within the grid system. The error was corrected and the 2015 trenches are situated within the proper grid coordinates.

The coordinates of the four corners of T 75 at the start of the 2015 season are as follows:

NW Corner:  102 E/44 S

NE Corner:  104 E/44 S

SE Corner:  104 E/48 S

SW Corner:  102 E/48 S

A datum point with an absolute elevation of 27.56 meters was established on a tree located along the northern baulk wall of T 75.
