Munsell Color 2.5Y 7/4 pale yellow
Description The soil of Locus 4 was a pale yellowish soil. In color, it resembled galestra, however it is far looser and sandier than galestra, which is often very dense and flakey. However, like galestra, Locus 4 was essentially sterile. One tile fragment was found in the locus, but it was encircled by a root. No other materials were found. The locus was located in the central meters of the trench, in the trench's northern half, and was entirely surrounded by Locus 2.
