| Description | Locus 1 is a decontextualized locus covering the entirety of the trench; a top soil locus. The soil of locus 1 is filled with many roots, few fragments of terracotta, few sherds of pottery, and no bone. However, four fragments of slag were recovered in the locus. Soil is a compacted light brown, with many tree and grass roots, and substantial root rot in the Western flank of the locus. |
