Site Description Similar in shape to 103 but much larger upper part forms the ruins of small fort, lower slopes plowed and planted with grapes, small fort now and in past on top, gate on north side (LS- 6/20/97 - poss this refers to large indentation in N side of site now planted under grapes) 6/20/97 site recollected by LS & MK.(see comments under Iron Age below).
Survey Conditions(include time spent on site) Good top +upper 10, lower 10, plowed for grapes, gendarme post on top
Collection Comments A number of pie crust rims, applied handles and fine incised pieces, a piece of green and yellow scrafiato. (See LDS comments under IA)

Iron Age note This is a good EIA to MIA site (6-00) //Platter, some posssible rims lower slopes; LDS 9/13/98 chaffy, heavy v. pale brown slip with undecorated applied band storage jar - poss IA or Roman //sounds like Korucutepe IA with thick slip and is chaffy (6-00)// haven't drawn and didn't pull. Noted poss pitcher spout, maybe pre-Roman, L104:4 and #188 - very similar in shape except L104:4 is chaffy; Lynn's pottery notes are below herein. 6/20/97 site recollected by LS & MK. Material phot'd incl. poss EB greeny buff base of chalice or fruit stand and small brown/black bowl - poss Chalco? owned by local woman. LS removed & drew poss. 2nd & 1st mill diagnostics, rest left on site bag of general things gives general impression of late from hell onwards to Islamic late bronze platter simliar to Kinnet Huyuk L104:1 posss trefoil rim with dark red or brown paint near top of neck slightly carinated open form everted rim (poss bowl) L104:4 simple open platter - lower slopes light brown - L104:2 exterior burnished open platter /bowl light brown - lowereast 1/5;p rest of pieces look like poss hige Hell/Roman storage jars lower slope everted rim open bowl form looks IA - slight carination has pinky fabric and cream ext wash - in bag lower slopes 5/5 and poss (?) body sherd NA type palace ware (?) of course could also be Hell fineware// top 1/4 looks later def with glazed pieces, but also poss IA or Hellenistic forms
