Description | After a tree was removed from the center of Locus 12, the remaining stump and supporting soil was designated Locus 15. The soil in Locus 15 was light brown and very crumbly. This color and texture may be due to the fact that the soil was exposed to the sun and rain over the course of excavation. After three pick passes, the soil became darker brown and more clay-like. Once the soil of Locus 15 reached the same level as Locus 12, Locus 15 was closed. A bronze tack and small amounts of terracotta and bone were found in Locus 15, possibly due to bioturbation. |
