Surface exploration methods the soil observed at this site consisted of Genesee loam. While this soil type is frequently flooded, the positive shovel probe revealed topsoil depth of 10 cam (4 in.) below surface. Due to the drop in elevation of Pleasant Run along the southern boundary, the narrow flood plain in the area is not susceptible to significant accumulation of alluvial deposits. A single lithic flake made of Laurel chert was recovered. No diagnostic artifacts were recovered, prohibiting the determination of a cultural affiliation.
