Description Molded finial fragment preserves elaborate palmette with lotus-like motif in center, below which four volutes: the two central volutes coming from a vertical spiral motif at bottom center of palmette; the second two volutes, above and to the sides of the other two, and going in the opposite direction, form the lower extension and termination of a semi-circular convex line above and behind the lotus motif. From a second and parallel convex line, below the first and behind the central "lotus petal," a semi-circular pattern of convex petals with rounded ends extends to outer edge of palmette, ending on each side at lateral "lotus petal." Scar for attachment of finial to handle preserved on back.
