Condition Broken on three sides. Worn. Encrustation.
Description Tile fragment preserving a curved area, or shell, which makes a transition into a flat area. Height of shell as preserved approximately 0.080 m. Fragment is probably one end of a tile which would have curved entirely over the ridgepole, providing a shell on both of its ends for cover tile on either side of the ridgepole. For other examples, see 19660176 and 19680600.
Fabric Description Murlo terracotta fired dark orange on exterior, grayish buff at core. Very coarse rough clay with numerous particles of stone and mica. Underside of curved part very uneven.
