Description | Tile fragment preserving a curved area, or shell, which makes a transition into a flat area. Height of shell as preserved approximately 0.080 m. Fragment is probably one end of a tile which would have curved entirely over the ridgepole, providing a shell on both of its ends for cover tile on either side of the ridgepole. For other examples, see 19660176 and 19680600. |
Fabric Description | Murlo terracotta fired dark orange on exterior, grayish buff at core. Very coarse rough clay with numerous particles of stone and mica. Underside of curved part very uneven. |
