Condition Broken on three sides. Chipped and worn. Encrusted.
Description Tile fragment preserving a flat area which makes a transition into a curved area, or part of a shell. Height of shell approximately 0.067 m in its preserved state. Fragment is probably one end of a tile which would have curved entirely over the ridgepole, providing a shell on both of its ends for cover tile on either side of ridgepole. For other examples see 19660176 and 19680599.
Fabric Description Murlo terracotta, fired light orange to gray. Very coarse, rough clay with dense particles of stone and mica.
