Condition | Fragments are worn, pitted, and heavily encrusted. Fragment A has some chips from excavation. Fragments are associated but do not join. |
Description | Two fragments of associated plaster. Fragment A has an irregular shape with several impressions of different kinds. The fragment is somewhat triangular in shape and somewhat 'L' shaped in profile. The portion which forms the interior face of the vertical bar of the 'L' shape is higher at one end and tapers down diagonally to meet the portion which forms the horizontal bar of the 'L' shape. The top edge is unfinished, irregular, and amorphous. The inside corner between the bars of the 'L' is comprised of a stick or large reed impression, max. pres. length of 0.10350m and max. pres. width of 0.01479m. The rest of the interior face of the horizontal bar of the 'L' shape is irregularly shaped and slopes downward gently towards the edge. Perpendicular to the wider end of the stick/reed impression in the inside corner of the 'L' shape, perpendicular also to the inside of the horizontal bar of the 'L', is a flat impression 0.03989m in height and 0.02489m in width. In line with the orientation of the horizontal bar of the 'L' shape, this impression is met at an approximately one-hundred-and-ten degree angle by another relatively flat impression 0.04954m in height and 0.04428m in width. 0.00552m from the corner formed by these two impressions on the relatively flat face is a raised, convex line 0.00476m in width and 0.02699m in length. This face also starts to project outward towards its edge, forming a slightly convex curve. The portion which forms the exterior face of the 'L' shape is also highly amorphous with bulbs and concavities. The underside of the horizontal bar of the 'L' shape has one stick or reed impression running somewhat parallel to the edge formed by the relatively flat impression. The stick/reed impression is 0.05660m long and 0.01375m wide. On this same face, opposite where the stick/reed impression is located on the upper side of the horizontal bar of the 'L' shape, is another impression. Near the corner formed by the two flat impressions it is narrow (max. pres. width of 0.01088m) but it widens towards the opposite edge (max. pres. width of 0.04384m). It is separated from the stick/reed impression on the same face with it by a raised ovoid projection. Fragment B is an amorphous fragment of plaster. One face is rough and bumpy, but the opposite side looks almost finished, though perhaps it is just better preserved instead. These fragments are associated but do not join. |
