Description | Locus 4 is Extension 1 (the trench was extended one meter to the baseline and then another meter beyond). Locus 4 includes the humus layer and topsoil. The soil was a medium brown color. There was root rot in the southeast, southwest, and center (near stumps). There were lots of rocks. There was also a lot of terracotta from the tile dump from previous excavation years. There was some greyish soil appearing in some spots, which indicated Locus 2. Locus 4 Extension 1 = Locus 1 Main trench. |
