Description | Square niche in the south pulpitum wall, approximately 0.395 m in depth and 0.56 m wide. The back and east sides of the niche are constructed in three courses; on the west it is constructed in twobut this side includes a massive limestone block and is in fact as high as the sides built in three courses. This niche and its "sister" on the west flank the central niche in an alternating "square-circular-square" pattern which is common to Classical theater stage facades. |
