Description | A bronze nail fragment preserving portions of the head and the upper elements of the shaft. In section the shaft shows indications of having perhaps originally been formed as a roughly cylindrical (or conical) shaft but then hammered on four sides as evidenced by some faceting on the shaft which begins about 0.00187m below the head. The nail shaft is not straight, but has been slightly bent with the tip curving towards the same direction as the wider part of the preserved head. |
