Description | Locus 18 comprises the capstones that serve as the cover of the canalization system branch present in Trench 55A. The capstones are large sandstone blocks which rest directly on the walls of the canal. A number of small spaces between the capstones were filled with tightly placed small stones, possibly to prevent air from entering system. The southernmost capstone serves as part of the foundation for the south wall. |
