Earth Remarks | Loose earth and rock tumble; very random; mud brick submitted in good condition (labelled MB 35), unusual in that it is 10YR 8/4 very pale brown; as further earth was removed the stones were found to be in rows parallel with the wall behind them; this would suggest that the wall was destroyed by a natural disaster rather than a military conquest; isolated irregular patches of claylike & beaten earth poss from a damaged rampart; Pail 18 is actually the scraping through of the next L 3 |
