Description | Locus 4 is an extension to VT 17. Like Locus 1 it is the upper stratum of VT 17. It is a mixed context and appears to comprise roughly 50cm of soil that was brought to the Olive Grove in the 1980s. It is also a plough zone and has been utilized for agricultural purposes for decades. The materials within Locus 1 are mixed from modern glass and plastic pieces, to modern and ancient tile. Some ancient ceramic, along with medieval pottery was also recovered. The soil is a mixed light to dark brown soil, that is loose and sand-like in parts. It lies above Locus 6. |
