Description Features are in high relief. The face is rectangular except at the chin, which follows the shape of the mouth. The smooth hair is parted in the middle and at the ears divides into two strands. The ears are formed by ridges of clay. The almond shaped eyes with their ducts and lids are recessed from the narrow forehead and cheeks. Their edges touch the ears. The bridge of the nose is divided into two sections by three grooves, the tip of the nose ends and three knobs. The long, open mouth sinks slightly in the middle beneath the nose. Two flat teeth and two fangs, on either side of the nose, frame four flat teeth in the upper jaw. The tongue, with a central groove hangs from the center of the mouth. The back is rough where the Gorgon was attached to its cover tile. Traces of red paint, this seems to have covered the entire face. White paint, flesh only, often covers red.
Fabric Description Coarse clay with bits of stone and mica fired to an orange-brown. Considerable remains of red and white paint.
