Surface exploration methods The site is a regularly tilled crop field. It was chisel plowed in the fall of 1999. Our initial visit on 12-31-1999 provided little as recently melted snows had left the soil light and fluffy prohibiting exposure of chert flakes, etc. to a great degree. After receiving additional rain wash, we resurveyed the site on 3-13-2000 .
