Description	A thick fill stratum of compacted fine soils, including clay, silt, and sand. There was also a scattering of pebbles, and a few, random small boulders. The locus contained two distinct types of soil mixed together, and the matrix was quite moist. One of the soil components derived from the local sandstone and had a Munsell Color range of 5 YR 5/4 – 4/4 (Reddish Brown). The other soil type was from limestone, and had a Munsell Color range between 10 YR 5/6 (Yellowish Brown) to 4/6 (Dark Yellowish Brown). This combination of soils suggests that this fill was brought from the nearby wadi bed, where the limestone component was carried in from the east during flooding events. The stratum yielded a large assortment of pottery and bone, as well as a few pieces of stucco, metal, and glass. Two charcoal samples were obtained for analysis. Two coins, one terracotta figurine fragment, a lithic blade, and a nearly complete bowl were also recovered. This stratum is a part of the secondary construction event related to the blockage of the vaults (Tr. 97 2004 Loci 12 and 14).
