Description The southern extent of the kiln feature within VT-1 is delineated on its southern side by three ovoid structures which were connected by means of two arches constructed out of reused dolia (pythoi) rims. Locus 6 (wall E)is the eastern most of these structures. This locus lies 0.64 meters to the east of locus 5 (wall D) and abuts locus 9 (H). The wall has two different construction techniques with the majority being constructed out of opus incertum with light grey () mortar and conglomerate consisting mainly of limestone. The northern side of the structure is faced with roofing tiles which have been used as bricks. The mortar between these tiles is the same as in the opus incertum and thus would point to a contemporaneous building phase. Locus 6 (wall E) is connected to locus 5 (wall D) by a reused dolium fragment. Based on the mortar used in locus 6, it is fair to say that it is constructed in the same building phase as locus 4, 5, 7, 8 and 9.
