Description | Seven fragments of an impasto spindle whorl, badly damaged in excavation. Fragment A preserves a portion of the widest diameter face of the whorl. The portion of vertical perforation preserved is max. diameter of 0.00205m. The face appears to have a beveled edge where it carinates to turn into the conical profile. Fragment B preserves a portion of the smooth, conical profile and a portion of the vertical perforation with a max. pres. diameter of 0.00292m. Fragment C has one slightly convex finished face, but is otherwise broken. Fragment D has one convex finished face, but is broken along two other faces. Fragment E has one finished slightly convex face but is broken on all other sides. Fragment F is amorphously broken on all sides. Fragment G has a small portion of a finished face, but is otherwise broken. All the fragments are associated, but do not join. |
