Description | Fragment of ridge pole tile preserves part of one short edge, and, running up to back, broken edge are two protruding scarred sections of terracotta, apparently parts of an akroterion: one is now a long, raised ridge, while the other, shorter one is an elliptical section apparently projecting vertically from tile, and curving slightly toward the longer ridge - resembles a vessel handle. On top of tile below scars (on side of short scar), are traces of paint running horizontally up toward scars from broken long edge: now preserved are three thin white triangles with points toward scars - one set at finished short edge, and other two spaced 0.061 m and 0.042 m apart from each other. |
