Phase Description
Description This locus defines a small fill deposit within a hexagonal “cut-out” in one of the limestone floor pavers (Locus 25). The “cut-out” was delineated by sharp edges, and did not appear to be the result of collapse damage—no broken paver fragments were found. The locus measured 0.77 m east west-by-0.56 m north south. The fill consisted of fine textured sand and silt with a Munsell Color range of 7.5 YR 5/3–5/4 Brown. Excavation to the current level did not explain the nature or function of the hexagonal “cut-out.”
