A web based tool for exploring and comparing artifact geochemistry with archived datasets.

Project Abstract


This project aims to provide a background of regional reference data against which to graphically compare new geochemical data from a variety of cultural items as well as providing links to recommended values and a reference data set for obsidian sourcing. These reference datasets include the geochemical library of Neutron Activation Analysis elemental concentration data from the Missouri University Research Reactor (MURR) for Andean obsidian sources, These data will facilitate linking obsidian artifacts to their sources using graphical and multivariate source assignment tools through R with the web interface R-Shiny.
