Beginning today by working in Locus 19 to remove the first layer of stones.  We are doing this by troweling to the level that the stones are on then removing them.  As we remove some of the rocks in Locus 19 more rocks are beginning to appear underneath them.  The soil has remained consistant into the second layer of stones.  The soil is still a medium brown and there is a large piece of a large piece of tile appearing among the stones.  Cleaned up area of the rocks in order to declare a new locus .  The locus will be declared in order to include an area of rocks that projected into the area between 24-25.5 m south and could not be excavated prior to this.

between the meters 22 and 24 south. Locus 20 soil is medium brown and contains pottery, bone, and tile. A large piece of tile is clearly seen among the rocks.  This locus contains the same soil as locus 19 .  The coordinates and elevations are:

Began troweling down into locus 20 to prepare to remove the second layer of stones.  So far it does not seem that there are many stones underneath this layer.  Continued through locus 20 , among the few rocks removed a small amount of pottery and tile was recovered.
