Began the day by taking the munsell description of the plaster deposit. It is 10R 6/6 light red with patches of 10R 4/8 RED. We will now continue to trowel down into locus 17 to look for a continuation of the plaster deposit. Additionally, we are beginning to clear off the archaic wall between 22-24mS in order to prepare it for excavation. It appears that while there was an isolated depost on top of the northern rock in Locus 17 the souther rock seems to disrupt the continuation of the stratum. The plaster does not appear to continue under this rock nor did the plster continue above it. As wqe have excavated the western half of the trench between 25.5m S and 24mS down to the elevation of the floor level of OC3, although we have not necessarily found the floor we will continue excavation in the western half over an area previously covered by Locus 12 . Locus 18 will be declared over this locus. Locus 18 consists of a brown soil 7.5YR 5/3 Brown soil that is crumbly and clightly claylike. Some pottery and tile can be seen in the soil. There is also some tone and very small bits of carbon in the soil. The locus has coordinates and elevations
