A.M.

The floor was cleaned of backfill for the entire morning. No other work was done on the site.

P.M.

At the east end meters o/91-93 were cleared to about 20 cm. of soil and a small stump. The soil here was mostly loose and dark and had only a small amount of tile and plaster. Eight fragments of ceramic were found ranging from coarse impasto to fine orangeware. At the cut floor level a reddish soil appeared mixed in with the darker upper level soil.
