Continued stripping surface soil from rest of CA38.  No difference in soil from S10, E83.  Small stones (to 5cm) and rocks (to 10cm) continued in very heavy concentration in E84 across 54-56, fading in density somewhat in E83.  intermittant large stones in all meters.  in S4, E83-84, a line of large cobbles (25-45 cm) were uncovered.  One from E84 broke from pick blow and removed.  The rest left in place.  Finds: no pottery, approx. 1 dozen pieces of small, worn tile.  One piece of slag recovered from S4, E83.

This trench is still very wet and now with topsoil removed, we wil leave it over PM and weekend to air out.
