Work for the day began with a pick pass in the southern area of locus 4, peeling towards the north.
In the second pick pass of the day, it was noted that a higher sum of charcoal was being discovered throughout the locus, about ½ cm in size. The charcoal doesn’t appear to be coming in concentration from any specific area of the locus and feels loosely scattered.
While cleaning the northernmost corner of the trench, a small bronze fragment was discovered. It is to be noted that all 4 bronze pieces uncovered to date have derived from the same corner / area of the trench, simply minor fluctuations at which they were found.

Locus 4
It appears as though bone concentration in the south of the excavated area has diminished. The same 1x1 square northwestern corner which the bronze was recovered is the same region which the majority of bone is deriving.
The emerging architectural terracotta appears to be in smaller, more worn pieces, however, the overall amount seems consistent with that of yesterday.
Additionally, there seems to be more rocks - about 8cm in size.
Another pick pass was made along the northeastern quadrant of the trench. In this pick pass, a higher quantity of bone in the central region appeared. These pieces, though not diagnostic, appear much larger in size and more in-tact. Of these pieces, three pieces of burnt bone were discovered. While cleaning a pick pass along the western edge of the trench, a bronze fragment was discovered in the northwestern most 1x1 meter quadrant in the same area as the bronze fragment from earlier.

A second pick pass was made this afternoon, to finish leveling the areas within Locus 4 at a higher elevation.

At the end of the day, 40 litres (about 5 buckets) of dirt was obtained for flotation for an archaeobotanical record of locus 4.
With the remaining day, using trowels, loose dirt was scraped away for a clear visual of the exposed area. Roots were clipped and the baulk wall between T-92 and T-91 was knocked down.
End of day totals:
Locus 4:
Pottery – 156 pieces
Bone – 94 pieces
Tile – 2 bowls
