17 July 2018

AM

Due to a thunderstorm from the previous evening, conditions of excavation are uncertain. At this time, due to the dampness of the soil, we are unable to excavate at this time. We hope that after bailing water out of near areas, this issue will no longer exist.

The entirety of the morning was spent bailing water out of T-90 as well as the T-22 workshop.

PM

An analysis of the soil was performed for T-92 to determine our ability to excavate. The soil is slightly damp with a slightly more clay-like feel, however, we are still able to read the stratigraphy of the soil and will be able to excavate.

Opening coordinates were taken

NW (46 S / 168 E) – 27.60 m.AE

NE (46 S / 171 E) – 27.63 m.AE

NE2 (47.81 S / 171 E) – 27.56 m.AE

SW3 (46.82 S / 168 E) – 27.44 m.AE

A pick pass was made.

A second pick pass was made to help level out areas within the trench at a higher elevation.
