July 10 Saturday A.M. only

Excavation of the North East quadrant of the stone feature continued to complete exposure of the stones in that quadrant to a depth of about 1.50 m - at 1.44 m. there was a slight horizontal gap in the stones, at first thought to be the bottom end of the feature, but an extension to 1.50m for verification showed that the stones continue in regular order to at least 1.50m - trench will not be extended any deeper for the present, but will be extended around the stone feature to include the SE quadraqnt, thus exposing the entire Eastern half of feature.  It was noted that the dug hole made originally for the stone feature was extremely close to the size of contours of the laid stones - this because the stones were probably set up in the sides of a small, deep pit.  No objects were found in the disturbed earth.
