Pick pass done in eastern most meter strip 5-7cm deep avoiding possible second rock feature. Soil sorted and cleaned. Soil consistent with Locus 2 . Some small rocks 3-5cm coming up in pick pass. Southern meter strip picked 5-7cm deep. Soil sorted and cleared, remaining consistent with Locus 2 . Also 3-5cm rocks in pass. More material appearing at this level than before in trench. Pick pass done in western most meter strip avoiding tree stumps and rock feature. Soil sorted and cleared, consistent with Locus 2 . North of rock feature picked as well as area to the southwest. Soil sorted and cleared, consistent with Locus 2. In cleaning found special find—bronze sheets.

Area of the feature troweled down to trench level. Other areas leveled as necessary. Soil sorted and cleared, soil consistent with Locus 2 . In cleaning large piece of carbon found with some pottery sherds around it. Pick pass done in the eastern most meter strip. Soil sorted and cleaned, consistent with Locus 2 . Pick pass completed in southern meter strip. Soil cleaned over whole area of the trench. Trench covered with plastic overnight.
