Metal Summary for T22 West Ext for 2000 Season
The metal found in T22 West Ext for 2000 Season consisted solely of bronze. Loci 1-4 produced no metal finds while loci 5-7 had a high concentration of amorphous bronze and several special finds. Locus 5 produced two amorohus bronze frags that may be ingots (KLHII p 87), a bronze fibula frag (KLHII p 89), and a bronze tack (KLHII p 89). Locus 6 produced several special finds including a bronze fibula frag (KLHII p 95) and 2 bronze tacks with silver foil preserved on their heads (KLHII p 101, 103). Locus 7 produced a smaller amount of bronze, but some finds were tracked including an amorphous bronze frag (KLHII p 103). Two frags of bronze were also recovered while trimmming the baulk walls.
The metal finds of T22 west ext seem to be concentrated in Loci 5, 6, 7 which are responsible of the upper plaster layer and possible orientalising burn layer. All recognisible frags of bronze such as tacks and fibula frags were found within Loci 5 & 6 which are indicative of the
"plaster layer".
