The entire area of the trench was declared locus 3 this morning. Opening photos were taken. The soil of this locus appears slightly darker and more crumbly than that of locus 2. Some of the terracotta fragments have less abraided edges than those of earlier loci.

Excavation of locus 3 commenced. A pick-pass was carried out across the whole trench, which was lowered approximately 10 cm. The sides of the locus were trimmed. Approximately 7 bowls of terracotta fragments were recovered. Approximately 1/3 latte box of pottery sherds was found. Four special finds were made.
