Pick pass done in the Eastern 2m by 1m strip. The soil is slightly damp from last night's rain but it is still easy to pick though. The soil is still full of roots, no rocks present during this pick pass. No terra cotta or pottery coming up in the picked soil. Pick pass done in the Western 2m by 1m strip. Still using the pick axe around the rocks in an attempt to better define their extent and depth. After the loose soil was cleaned out with trowels, an attempt was made to define the rocks that line the Western wall. As of now the soil is

too damp and clay-like to be able to get around the curves and crevices of the rock. As of now it does not seem to be one large rock because of the multiple crevices that are present. Another pick pass was done 2m by .5m in an attempt to locate the edge of the rock feature running along the Western wall. While picking, there were no rocks present which indicates that the rock feature may extend approximately one meter in. Roots still present in the soil although not as predominant as earlier. While leveling with the trowel, more rock was hit along the Northern portion of the trench although its size is not discernable yet. More rock is now present underneath the rest of the sorted soil and seems to be extending out of the large rock that is present in the middle of the trench, although not completely obvious at this time. No terra cotta or pottery present in the sorted soil. Pick pass done in

another 2m by 1m strip, ending at the Eastern wall. No rocks are present in most of the Eastern portion except for a small group in the NE corner. No terra cotta or pottery present in the sorted soil. Roots were clipped after loose soil was picked up. After picking up all of the loose dirt, it was possible to measure the large rock extending out from the Southern wall into the middle of the trench. It measures: 78cm long by 34cm wide. Pick pass done in the Western 2m by 1m strip, rocks prevalent in the SW corner, not many in the NW corner. Dirt will be sorted from the NW corner and trowels will be used on the rocks in the SW corner in an attempt to define the rock feature further. With the light rain it is difficult to properly define the rocks because the soil has changed to a damp, clay-like texture. The rock tends to shear off at certain points. Leveling done as well as baulk walling in order to assess

if in fact the soil has changed or if it looks different because of the rain. Digging stopped early because of a large rainstorm.
