The stones running E-W in M32-33 were completely uncovered and brushed cdown (depth 85cm.) Grid M34 was excavated (depth 90cm.) [Cuts 1-6] showing that the E-W pattern of stones continued. The burn layer definitely extends over the top of these stones and continued southward. South of the stones in M33 itself (inside whatever building) came a rocchetto, some pieces of tile, and carbon deposits.
Cuts 1-5 were continued in D-E-F-G 33, reaching the burn layer in g. no change in stratigraphy from Grid 32. Numerous piece of tile (1.5 boxes) were found in yellow soil (40cm). Numerous pottery fragments in burn layer, but primarily coarse ware, impasto, low-fired varieties.
